Tips to protect Facebook account from hackers

Facebook, the social networking or we can say our virtual world. Most of the people live more in this virtual world than their real world. We share our photos, moods and thoughts with our friends. But with the increase in use of Facebook, Hackers are also very active and they always try to hack innocent people's facebook account.

Many people do not care about this. According to them, "There is no loss to me if my facebook account is hacked." But they easily forget that they also have some of their private information. And if there is no private information, the account represents you. These are the people who never care about their account security and then request me to help in getting back their facebook account because some one is using it and doing abusive things.

Why should you always try to protect your account: Facebook is your online identity. If you account is hacked, you will have to face following problems:
1. Now someone else is living your life in Facebook. All the abusive and criminals activities done by hacker will represent you.
2. He will ruin your reputation.
3. Your private photos can be misused in porn industry.
4. Your personal data wil be sold to the internet marketing firms
5. If you are a girl, then i do not think i have to explain the problem.

Myths about facebook hacking: Some people think that hackers have some nice hacking tools which easily gra their passwords. So they can not do any thing to protect their account. There is not a single percent truth in this. No tool exists which can grab your password. Yeah some hackers use facebook security services as a security bug to take over your facebook account. But facebook has given so many ways to recover facebook account. You are never going to lose your facebook account if you will follow all the security points which i am goinf to describe in this post.
Most of the time hackers use phishing and keyloggers to hack facebook account. Protection against these attacks are easy.

Security settings for facebook:
1. Hide your primary Email account and phone number from your profile. This should only be visible to you. It should not be available to your friends too.
To do this click on your name on the top navigation bar and go to your time line. Now click on About to open your profile info. Here scroll down to contact info and click on Edit. Here you will see some icons with a down arrow key in front of each info. click on drop down in front of emails to change it to "only me."

You must hide your email id and phone number and change the visibility to "only me" option.
Hackers can use your email id and phone number to perform phising attack.
2. Go to "Account settings" and then Security tab. Turn on "Secure Browsing". Click on Edit to enable the setting.
Enable "login notifications." This wil help you to know the unauthorize activity each time your account has been tried to access by you or someone else.
3. Add your phone number as a recovery option. This is the best way to recover the password.
4. Use a good Antivirus and internet security to protect system from keyloggers and trojans. Most of the internet security tools also warns against phishing page.
5. Regular update your browser and windows for latest patches. Updated browsers has inbuilt security tools which protects against malicious downloads and phishing links.
6. Avoid clicking on suspicious links and spams on facebook.

These r sme of the things to be followed to protect ut acc !

The Reality Of Hacking Facebook, Orkut, Gmail, Yahoo Accounts

This is a must read post for the beginners and newbies who have just started exploring hacking and for laymen who aren't interested in learning hacking but needs somebody's account password anyhow. I want you to aware about common misconceptions regarding Email/Social Networking Sites accounts hacking.

Otherwise those thoughts/misconceptions can seriously put you in trouble.
We usually start like googling this, "how to hack gmail" , "
softwares for hacking orkut","how to hack facebook" etc
but unfortunately reach some malicious websites,
follow stupid instructions and our own accounts get compromised.

Yes I wasn't any different and had been a foolish when I was a beginner

Okay talking in general ,
suppose you just have signed up for an account(gmail, yahoo or any other reputed website)
Your password is stored only at two places

1. In website's database
2. In your mind
(Dont say a stupid thing that it is also saved in a text file on your
PC or in your girlfriend's mind etc)

Fetching your credentials (Id/password) from website's database is almost impossible.
They are paynig million of dollars for securing their systems.
Here I should remind you that, I am talking only about the reputed companies like microsoft, google, facebook etc.
Hard Core hackers might get success in compromising their systems.

Now talking about your mind, its might be really very simple to do this. Shocked ?
At this ponit,
I must say that hacking an email account depends strongly on carelessness/foolishness of victim.

FAQs or misconceptions regarding the same:-

Does any free/paid software/program/cracker exist to hack such accounts ?

No .You might get numberless free or preminum softwares which claim to crack email accounts.
The softwares just ask you to enter victim's email and start cracking/generating password.
I have already told you about two places where one's password is. From where the hell ,these softwares would bring passwords for you ? .
This kinda stuff is undoubtedly scam/rubbish.

Is there any free/premium online service to hack such accounts ?

No.You might have logged on to many websites that claim to crack any
email account for some amount of money.
They are completely fraud and be aware of them. Dont lose your money there !!

An Other type of fraudYou might have come across many tutorials/videos that instruct you
to compose an email to something@something.com.
You are asked to write victim's email ID, your
email ID, your password and are assured that you would get requested password within 24 hours.
Needless to say, it is an idea of befooling innocent people .
Ofcourse,your own account gets compromised.

Beleive me , you cant imagine the number of people who become victim of such rubbish things
 They
lose their money, time, accounts but get nothing in return. So take care.

How to hack these accounts ?

Every method directly/indirectly involve victim's carelessness/lack of knowledge.

Non-Technical-
While signing up for an account, we are asked to set a security question like our nickname,
birthday place etc so that we could recover our account in case we forget our password.
Many innocent people sets the correct asnwer which they are not supposed to do.
Gather some information about victim and try to guess the answer of security question.

Technical-

1. Phishing- The most common way of hacking them is phishing.
The common type of phishing is Fake Login Page.
The victim is anyhow anyway made to enter his credentials in fake login page which resembles the genuine login page and gets hacked.
2.Malicious files- The victim is given a malicious file.
It could be binded with or hidden behind a genuine file.
It is usually a keylogger or trojan.
A keylogger secretly records everything you type and sends to attacker.
Obviously records your passwords too.
3.Stealing Sessions- Talking in simple language, whenever we sign into an account it generates a unique piece of string.
One copy is saved on server and other in our browser as cookie.
Both are matched everytime we do anything in our account.
This piece of string or login session is destroyed when we click on 'Sign Out' option.
An attacker can steal that session by convincing victim to run a piece of code in browser.
Attacker can use that stolen session to login into victim's account without providing any username/password. This attack is very uncommon because when the victim clicks 'Sign out' ,
session gets destroyed and attacker too also gets signed out.

Note-You might be thinking that one could sniff the credentials sitting in same network.
But I should remind you that,
they would be encrypted ones and cracking the SSL encryption is almost impossible.

Conclusion-

Sign up for an account at gmail/yahoo/facebook/orkut/hotmail.Now forget its password and recovery options
Never login into it . Can anyhow the password be cracked/hacked.?? Answer is big NO.

Now Search Google Using Special Syntax

Hi ..
Google is clearly the best general-purpose search engine on the web and google goes far beyond a regular search engine. Give the tricks in this article a try. You will be amazed at how many different ways google can improve ur searching.
Google is an remarkably powerful tool that can ease and enhance your Internet exploration. Google’s search options go beyond simple keywords, the Web, and even its own programmers. Let’s look at some of Google’s lesser-known options.
Using special syntax you can tell Google that you want to restrict your searches to certain elements or characteristics of Web pages.
Google has listed a complete list of its syntax elements at www.google.com/help/operators.html

So lets Discuss these special syntax elements:
Calculator:
The next time you need to do a quick calculation, instead of bringing up the Calculator applet, you can just type your expression in to Google.
Example:
48512 * 1.02

Word Definitions:
If you need to quickly look up the definition of a word or phrase, simply use the “define:” command.
Example:
define:internet

intitle:
This Syntax restricts your search to the titles of web pages. The variation allintitle: finds pages wherein all the words specified appear in the title of the web page. Using allintitle: is basically the same as using the intitle: before each keyword.
examples:
intitle:”george bush”
allintitle:”money supply” economics
You may wish to avoid the allintitle: variation, because it doesn’t mix well with some of the other syntax elements.

intext:
This Syntax searches only body text (i.e., ignores link text, URLs, and titles). While its uses are limited, it’s perfect for finding query words that might be too common in URLs or link titles.
examples:
Intext:”tricks-4-computer.blogspot.in”
Intext:html
There’s also an allintext: variation, but again, this doesn’t play well with others.

inanchor:
This Syntax searches for text in a page’s link anchors. A link anchor is the descriptive text of a link. For example, the link anchor in the HTML code
example:
inanchor:”tricks-4-computer″
As with other in*: syntax elements, there’s an allinanchor: variation, which works in a similar way (i.e., all the keywords specified must appear in a page’s link anchors).

Link:
Lets you see which pages are linking to your Web page or to another page you’re interested in.
example:
link:http://www.tricks-4-computer.blogspot.in

site:
This Syntax allows you to narrow your search by either a site or a top-level domain.
examples:
site:tricks-4-computer.blogspot.in hacks
site:edu
site:nc.us

inurl:
restricts your search to the URLs of web pages. This syntax tends to work well for finding search and help pages, because they tend to be rather regular in composition.
example:
inurl:help
You’ll see that using the inurl: query instead of the site: query has one immediate advantage you can use it to search subdirectories. While the http:// prefix in a URL is ignored by Google when used with site:, search results come up short when including it in an inurl: query. Be sure to remove prefixes in any inurl: query for the best (read: any) results.

You can also use inurl: in combination with the site: syntax to draw out information on subdomains. For example, how many subdomains does google.com really have? A quick query will help you figure that out:
example:
site:google.com -inurl:www.google.com
This query asks Google to list all pages from the google.com domain, but leave out those pages which are from the common subdomain www, since you already know about that one
Do you ever wonder how many subdomains google has.I wondered!!!!

cache:
cache: finds a copy of the page that Google indexed even if that page is no longer available at its original URL or has since changed its content completely.
example:
cache:tricks-4-computer.blogspot.in
If Google returns a result that appears to have little to do with your query, you’re almost sure to find what you’re looking for in the latest cached version of the page at Google. The Google cache is particularly useful for retrieving a previous version of a page that changes often.

filetype:
filetype: searches the suffixes or filename extensions. These are usually, but not necessarily, different file types; filetype:htm and filetype:html will give you different result counts, even though they’re the same file type. You can even search for different page generators—such as ASP, PHP, CGI, and so forth—presuming the site isn’t hiding them behind redirection and proxying. Google indexes several different Microsoft formats, including PowerPoint (.ppt), Excel (.xls), and Word (.doc).
examples:
“learn java” filetype:pdf
“IT books” filetype:doc

related:
related:, as you might expect, finds pages that are related to the specified page. This is a good way to find categories of pages; a search for related:google.com returns a variety of search engines, including Lycos, Yahoo!, and Northern Light.
examples:
related:www.yahoo.com
related:www.cnn.com
While an increasingly rare occurrence, you’ll find that not all pages are related to other pages.

info:
info: provides a page of links to more information about a specified URL. This information includes a link to the URL’s cache, a list of pages that link to the URL, pages that are related to the URL, and pages that contain the URL.
examples:
info:www.tricks-4-computer.blogspot.in
info:www.nytimes.com/technology
Note that this information is dependent on whether Google has indexed the specified URL; if not information will obviously be far more limited.

phonebook:
This Syntex as you might expect, looks up phone numbers.
examples:
phonebook:ashwin IN
phonebook:(511) 556-2725

SOURCE : Google features

You can also use google visual interface for the abouve syntexes for less effort typing LINK.
